Meet Our Staff

Matt McNelly

Pastor

Matt McNellyMatt is the senior pastor of PPC, serving our congregation since 2006. After graduating from Whitworth University in Spokane (where he met and married his wife Amy), he served as Director of Jr. High Ministry at First Presbyterian Church of Bellevue. God’s call on Matt’s heart to full-time ministry took him to Princeton Theological Seminary to complete a Master’s in Divinity degree and an MA in Youth Ministry. Matt is currently working on his doctorate in ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary.

After graduation, he served as associate pastor of youth ministry at a congregation in southern California, where he also quenched his thirst for surfing! Today Matt serves alongside his wife Amy, and shares his musical talent by leading contemporary music. He has a heart ready to share the gospel and is passionate about caring for all ages in the church, and particularly about helping our youth find a firm foundation in Christ. Matt also serves as the Volunteer Chaplain for the Pullman Police Department.

Interests: playing his guitar, surfing (the amber waves of grain will have to do for now), attending Cougar sporting events, and grilling meat. Matt and Amy are parents to 3 lovely young ladies—Lydia, Eliza, and Naomi—and precious baby boy Jonah!

Amy McNelly

Pastor

Amy McNellyAmy is an associate pastor of PPC, serving our congregation since 2006. After graduating from Whitworth University in Spokane, she taught 6th grade at Bellevue Christian School in Bellevue, WA. Amy then began studying at Princeton Theological Seminary, thinking that she would like to teach at the college or seminary level, but while completing her Master’s in Divinity was surprised to discover God calling her into pastoral ministry.

She subsequently served as an associate pastor for children & families at a church in southern California. She now serves here alongside her husband Matt, pastoring our congregation with infectious love for Jesus and a passion for authentic discipleship, meaningful community, and invigorating theological conversations!

Interests: board games, gardening, reading (C.S. Lewis, Timothy Keller, and Corrie ten Boom are among her favorite authors), visiting national parks (hopefully one each summer!), singing, and especially eating ice cream. Amy and Matt are parents to 3 beautiful girls: 11-year-old Lydia (who thinks life is a musical), 9-year-old Eliza (who brings spunk and exuberance to every situation), 4-year-old Naomi (who wants to befriend everyone she meets), and a baby boy: Jonah (a joyful addition to the 3-ring circus)!

Claudine Stepper

Office Administrator

Claudine Stepper Claudine retired from 23 years of teaching 2nd-3rd grade elementary in 2011, only to find herself eager to keep her mind and hands at work! She came on staff as PPC’s office administrator in 2012, and is an expert at efficiency.   As an alumnus of WSU, she and her husband Ken were delighted to return to the Palouse, and the company of family and their grandchildren Hazel, Walter, and Oscar. She enjoys baking (she’s very good at this), reading, creative projects, and spending pleasant summer days out on their boat with Ken.

Church Officers

We are so grateful for our staff, and we also believe that each member of our church is a minister and contributes to the life, ministry, and direction of PPC. As a church of the PC(USA), members of our church serve as Elders and Deacons within our congregation, coming together to discern and direct the activities of our church.  Listed below are our current Elders and Deacons:
