Meet Our Team
Matt McNelly
Pastor
Matt is the pastor of PPC, serving our congregation since 2006. After graduating from Whitworth University in Spokane (where he met and married his wife Amy), he served as Director of Jr. High Ministry at First Presbyterian Church of Bellevue. God’s call on Matt’s heart to full-time ministry took him to Princeton Theological Seminary to complete a Master’s in Divinity degree and an MA in Youth Ministry. Matt is currently working on his doctorate in ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary.
After graduation, he served as associate pastor of youth ministry at a congregation in southern California, where he also quenched his thirst for surfing! Today Matt serves and shares his musical talent by leading contemporary music. He has a heart ready to share the gospel and is passionate about caring for all ages in the church, and particularly about helping our youth find a firm foundation in Christ. Matt also served as the Volunteer Chaplain for the Pullman Police Department for 12 years.
Interests: playing his guitar, surfing (the amber waves of grain will have to do for now), attending Cougar sporting events, and grilling meat. Matt and Amy are parents to 3 lovely young ladies—Lydia, Eliza, and Naomi—and precious boy Jonah!
Donna Scott
Lay Pastor
Donna is a retired psychologist who has lived in Pullman for 40 years. She was commissioned as a lay pastor by the Inland NW Presbytery in 2022. Besides preaching occasionally when Pastor Matt is away, Donna helps with the new members class and preparing 4th graders for their first communion. She enjoys working with women’s Bible studies, teaching Sunday School and connecting with newcomers to the church family. PPC sends Donna and her husband Rich out to a small church in rural Idaho one Sunday each month to preach for a congregation that can’t support a full-time pastor.
Donna & Rich are also part-time volunteer staff with Intervarsity’s Graduate and Faculty Ministry for WSU and UI. They lead a grad student fellowship and promote interactions between Christian grad students and faculty.
The Scotts have 2 adult children, one son-in-law and two teenage grandchildren. Donna enjoys doing crosswords and reading murder mysteries, preferably on her front porch in one of her adirondack rocking chairs.
